Atlanta construction equipment demand
There's a lot of ground to cover around Atlanta. This page brings together construction jobs across the metro area and the companies that own the equipment used for this kind of work. Filmore gets the job details from project and permit records and the equipment details from company filings. Below, you can browse contractors, see job locations, and read a little more about what's being built, including the factory site near Social Circle and the work at Hartsfield-Jackson.

Large construction sites on both sides of Atlanta
East of Atlanta, Rivian's factory is moving ahead at Stanton Springs North, near Social Circle. Clayco is the builder, and architect SOM reported construction underway in August. The site crosses Walton and Morgan counties. It's a large industrial project on the edge of the region, with the plant and its surrounding infrastructure being built in phases.
Plateau's published sitework scope helps explain the scale of the ground work: more than 6.6 million cubic yards of earthmoving, along with drainage and underground utilities. That's the company's project scope, rather than a measure of how much excavation remains today. Its involvement also gives the contractor list a direct connection to a named job.
At Hartsfield-Jackson, construction has to fit around an airport that stays open. The Concourse D expansion is opening in sections, with another set of gates brought into use in June. The airport expects the overall project to run through 2029. New sections can be in service while crews continue working elsewhere on the same concourse.
Across the wider metro, the records include commercial sites, factories, data centers, and healthcare buildings. The jobs are spread across the suburbs as well as Atlanta itself, with sizable groups in Forsyth, Cherokee, Coweta, and Gwinnett counties. That spread is part of why the map covers the whole metro area.
Who to call
Contractors and the equipment they run
Plateau Excavation is based in Austell. Its Rivian scope runs from clearing and grading through storm drainage and water and sewer installation. Excavators, dozers, and articulated dump trucks all appear in its equipment filings, which fit the kind of large earthmoving work it describes.
Strack works from Fairburn and takes on civil and utility construction across the Southeast. Alongside grading and excavation, it offers trenchless boring and drilling and blasting. Those services let it handle pipe crossings and hard ground as part of a larger site job. Its filings describe equipment across the company; they aren't an inventory of machines on any one Atlanta project.

Atlanta construction map
This view includes Atlanta and its surrounding metro counties. Fulton has the largest group of listed jobs, but substantial groups extend north toward Forsyth and Cherokee and southwest into Coweta. Athens has a separate page, covering its own four-county area farther east.

Construction jobs to check in Atlanta
The addresses below give you a closer look at individual jobs within this larger area. Some records describe a whole development, while others cover one building or phase. At a large factory or airport, that distinction matters: an opening in one part of the site can happen while construction continues in another.

About the data on this page
New-build jobs include homes, commercial buildings and other new construction. Maintenance and renovation work aren't in these counts. The map shows jobs with coordinates, so it won't include every job in the list.
Some project records don't include permits. That doesn't mean the job has no permits. The stories also draw on owner, builder and public-agency updates. A story may discuss a development left out of the totals because its record is duplicated or incorrectly classified. Grouped markers on large maps keep a location from one of the jobs they represent, rather than showing every address separately.
Contractors are matched through offices or project activity in this market. Fleet details are company-wide equipment on file, not verified purchases or a count of machines at these sites. Public filings often arrive 30–90 days after the event. The refresh badge is the page's update date; individual dates appear in the tables.
