Sitework, storage, and highway construction
DEME's 2026 update shows how long work can last on one site. Its crews started with site prep and excavation at the tradeport. More than a year later, they were still there, putting in storm drains, underground utilities, and roads. DEME also lists a job near Moccasin Wallow Road in Palmetto. There, it's clearing land, digging retention ponds, and building roads.
In Fort Lauderdale, ARCO Design/Build is building five self-storage buildings for 4 Rivers Property Group. The city also required about 1,300 feet of new water main. ARCO's plan joins two lots and sets aside part of one for public use. Work began in September 2025. ARCO aims to finish in November 2026, if the plat is approved.
In Osceola County, Jr. Davis is widening the Turnpike from four lanes to eight. Its February 2026 update showed work on three bridges. Crews were also building retaining walls, storm drains, and a new road for northbound traffic.

Jr. Davis is based in Kissimmee and builds highways and bridges. It also moves dirt for road jobs. Its company records list excavators, loaders, and articulated dump trucks. Miami-based Downrite Engineering gets sites ready, digs lakes, lays water and sewer lines, builds lift stations, and puts in roads. Its records list excavators, dozers, loaders, and rollers.
