Florida construction equipment demand
Sarasota-based DEME has spent more than a year on Florida International Tradeport in Palmetto. Its work has carried on from excavation to underground utilities and roads. A tradeport, a storage site and the Turnpike
At the tradeport, DEME's crews began with site prep and excavation, then worked on storm drainage, underground utilities, and roads. Its 2026 update still showed progress on the site. At a second Palmetto project near Moccasin Wallow Road, DEME lists clearing, retention ponds, and roadway work.
Across the state in Fort Lauderdale, ARCO Design/Build is putting up five storage buildings for 4 Rivers Property Group. The city required an approximately 1,300-foot water-main extension, and ARCO's plan combines two parcels, one with an area designated for public use. Work started in September 2025. ARCO aims to finish in November 2026, pending plat approval.
In Osceola County, Jr. Davis is widening the Turnpike from four lanes to eight. Its February 2026 update described bridges going up at three crossings while crews worked on retaining walls, storm drainage, and a new northbound roadway.
