Los Angeles and Orange County construction equipment demand

Covering Los Angeles and Orange County means keeping track of work across a lot of cities. This page brings those construction jobs together with the contractors and equipment records Filmore has on file. Job details come from project and permit records; equipment details come from company filings. Below, you'll find addresses, company profiles, and a map, along with a closer look at projects such as Anduril's Long Beach campus and the proposed water plant in Carson.

The local picture

New campuses and major water works

Anduril's Long Beach campus is a large building job with a fairly near opening date. In September, the company said construction was underway on 1.18 million square feet of space and that the campus was on track to open in 2027. The project adds a substantial industrial campus to the smaller commercial sites and mixed-use buildings spread through the wider list.

In Carson, Pure Water Southern California is still a planned project. Metropolitan Water District and the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts propose a new purification plant beside the existing Warren water facility. The broader program also calls for pipelines and pumping facilities to move the treated water beyond the site. Environmental approval came in February 2026, but funding and construction decisions still remain. It belongs in the picture as planned civil work, with a different timeline from the campus in Long Beach.

Smaller permits can spell out the work just as clearly. At 2010 Zonal Avenue in Los Angeles, an application for a separate central utility plant includes grading, underground utilities, concrete walls and footings, and a steel roof. That application was still under review when we checked. It's one of several kinds of work in the full list, which also includes commercial buildings, industrial sites, and public facilities across both counties.

California Compaction works from Lancaster and takes on grading, roads, and underground utilities. About the data on this page

New-build jobs include homes, commercial buildings and other new construction. Maintenance and renovation work aren't in these counts. The map shows jobs with coordinates, so it won't include every job in the list.

Some project records don't include permits. That doesn't mean the job has no permits. The stories also draw on owner, builder and public-agency updates. A story may discuss a development left out of the totals because its record is duplicated or incorrectly classified. Grouped markers on large maps keep a location from one of the jobs they represent, rather than showing every address separately.

Contractors are matched through offices or project activity in this market. Fleet details are company-wide equipment on file, not verified purchases or a count of machines at these sites. Public filings often arrive 30–90 days after the event. The refresh badge is the page's update date; individual dates appear in the tables.
