Yuma construction equipment demand

Filmore brings Yuma-area construction jobs and contractor equipment records into one place. If you're new to the market, this page explains what some of the jobs involve and introduces companies that work in the area. The project details come from permit and construction records; equipment details come from company filings. You'll find addresses and a map below, with work around Yuma and nearby communities. We've also looked into the Hotel Del Sol project downtown, where the old building is part of a larger redevelopment.

The local picture

Downtown rebuilding and new commercial space

At Hotel Del Sol on Gila Street, the plans call for taking down part of the building while keeping its historic arcade. The permit describes a new three-story building with offices, a lobby, and space for future tenants. The city's September road report lists fencing and street closures around the site. That's evidence of site preparations, though it doesn't tell us how far demolition or construction has progressed.

Elsewhere in Yuma, plans at 2651 Lakin Avenue describe a new office and warehouse building for several tenants. It's a pre-engineered metal building, with earthwork required before the building permit can be issued. The applications were still in review when we checked. That makes it a planned commercial site, not a confirmed report of a building going up.

Other records cover smaller commercial buildings, medical offices, and storage work. The work varies from one address to the next: a new structure, extra parking and utilities, or a separate part of a larger site. Looking at those details gives a better sense of the local jobs than treating every commercial permit as the same kind of construction. The downtown redevelopment adds context, but isn't included in the new-building totals below.

Who to call

Contractors and the equipment they run

DPE Construction handles several parts of site development. The Yuma company moves and compacts soil, builds retention basins, paves roads and parking areas, and installs water, sewer, and storm lines. It also does concrete work, including curbs and culverts. Its equipment records include excavators, wheel loaders, and paving equipment.

BLT Companies supplies concrete, asphalt, and aggregates, and also provides heavy hauling and crane services. Its operations serve Yuma and surrounding communities, including Somerton, San Luis, and Wellton. That makes it a different kind of business from a sitework contractor. Neither company's appearance here means we've confirmed a role at Hotel Del Sol or the Lakin Avenue project.

Most listed addresses are in Yuma, with another group around Somerton and fewer elsewhere in the county. The map helps you see that spread. It shouldn't be read as a complete picture of construction in San Luis, Wellton, or every community nearby.

Construction jobs to check in Yuma

The table highlights individual sites from the wider Yuma County list. We've checked permit descriptions to separate new buildings from repairs, completed work, and duplicate addresses. Some of the remaining jobs are still at the application stage. Their plans describe the intended work, not a promise of an equipment order or a confirmed start date.

About the data on this page

New-build jobs include homes, commercial buildings and other new construction. Maintenance and renovation work aren't in these counts. The map shows jobs with coordinates, so it won't include every job in the list.

Contractors are matched through offices or project activity in this market. Fleet details are company-wide equipment on file, not verified purchases or a count of machines at these sites. Public filings often arrive 30–90 days after the event. The refresh badge is the page's update date; individual dates appear in the tables.
