Tucson construction equipment demand
This page is a starting point for getting to know construction jobs and contractors around Tucson and Pima County. Filmore combines project and permit records with equipment details from company filings. You'll find addresses, contractor profiles, and a map, plus a closer look at some of the work being planned. The list reaches beyond Tucson into places such as Sahuarita, Vail, and Green Valley. We've also included context on the I-10 rebuild, a separate road project that helps explain the wider construction picture.

Highway construction and smaller commercial sites
The I-10 rebuild between Kino Parkway and Country Club Road is a long-running job with several parts. ADOT names Sundt and Jacobs as the design-build team. The work includes widening the freeway, rebuilding the Kino interchange, adding an interchange at Country Club Road, and a connection beneath the freeway between the Kino Sports Complex areas. Construction is expected to continue through summer 2028. This is separate from the new-building projects counted on this page.
The permit list brings smaller sites into view. At 16229 North Oracle Road, an issued permit describes a roughly 10,800-square-foot building with warehouse and retail space divided into three suites. At 6444 Fontana Avenue, plans for modular storage include grading and access drives. The Fontana application was still in review, so the description tells us what's proposed, not that sitework has begun.
The wider set reaches into the communities south and east of Tucson too. That includes new commercial space alongside residential construction, with separate permits sometimes spelling out water connections, foundations, or access to a site. Those details help distinguish a new building and its surrounding work from a small repair at an existing address.
Who to call
Contractors and the equipment they run
Borderland Construction builds roads, bridges, drainage, and underground utilities. The Tucson company also prepares sites for schools, hospitals, and commercial projects, and does earthwork and piping for mines. Its equipment records include excavators, wheel loaders, backhoes, and graders. That fits a broader range of work than any one project type on this page.
Dirtworks Contracting handles clearing, grading, water and sewer lines, and storm drains. Its published company profile also lists dry utilities and paving. The equipment filings include excavators, graders, and wheel loaders. These are company-wide records, and some filings are older. Neither company's profile here means it's part of the Sundt-Jacobs highway team.

Tucson construction map
Tucson has the largest group of listed jobs, with more around Sahuarita and Vail. Green Valley and other Pima County communities appear too. The map puts those addresses in context without suggesting that the list covers every active job in the county.

Construction jobs to check in Tucson
The table gives you a closer look at individual building projects around Pima County. Warehouse, storage, and other commercial plans sit alongside residential jobs in the full list. An issued permit allows work to proceed; it isn't a live progress report. We've kept that distinction in the descriptions of projects still under review.

New-build jobs include homes, commercial buildings and other new construction. Maintenance and renovation work aren't in these counts. The map shows jobs with coordinates, so it won't include every job in the list.
Contractors are matched through offices or project activity in this market. Fleet details are company-wide equipment on file, not verified purchases or a count of machines at these sites. Public filings often arrive 30–90 days after the event. The refresh badge is the page's update date; individual dates appear in the tables.
