New Orleans construction equipment demand
This page brings together construction jobs and contractor equipment records around greater New Orleans. Filmore gets the jobs from project and permit records and the equipment details from company filings. You'll find job addresses, contractors, and a map of construction around the area. Most of the jobs listed here are in Jefferson Parish; the list includes far fewer in Orleans Parish. Along the river, the plans include a large warehouse at Avondale and new industrial work in Arabi. Street reconstruction in the city adds another kind of work to the picture.

Warehouse plans and street reconstruction
At 5100 River Road, the former Avondale shipyard address, a new application describes a warehouse of nearly 200,000 square feet. It covers the building shell, including its walls, large overhead doors, and raised concrete floor. Salacia Construction is named in the project record. The application was filed in August and was still under review when we checked, so this is a proposed building, not a confirmed report of earthmoving underway.
Downriver in Arabi, the records show an industrial project moving through separate permits. The early foundation permit for 7417 North Peters Street was issued in March. A second application, filed in July, covers the rest of the buildout and is still under review. Burns & McDonnell is named in the project record.
In the city itself, Fleming Construction is rebuilding four blocks of Arabella Street. The city's Audubon Group C update lists the project in construction, with work expected to run into spring 2027. The scope starts underground with utilities and drainage, then includes pavement, sidewalks, and curbs. That's a separate public-works project, outside this page's new-building permit totals.
Who to call
Contractors and the equipment they run
Fleming's work includes laying water and sewer mains, installing drainage, and rebuilding asphalt and concrete streets. The Kenner company is the city's named general contractor on Audubon Group C. Its equipment filings cover the whole business, rather than machines counted along Arabella Street.
Hard Rock Construction is based in Harvey. It builds concrete pavement and utilities and handles disaster-recovery work. The company has worked for New Orleans, Jefferson Parish, and St. Bernard Parish. Its equipment records sit alongside Fleming's in the account table, giving you a view of both businesses beyond any one permit or project.

New Orleans construction map
Construction on this list reaches into the river parishes, well beyond New Orleans itself. Jefferson has the largest share, with more jobs in St. Bernard, Plaquemines, St. James, and St. Charles. There are only a few Orleans Parish jobs listed here, so this isn't the full picture of construction within the city.

A new clinic in Vacherie is another example in this set. The permit for 22054 Champion Street describes a 21,189-square-foot building for St. James Parish Hospital, with new water, gas, and electrical connections. The six rows below cover only part of the market. Where an application is still being reviewed, the work is planned rather than confirmed underway.

New-build jobs include homes, commercial buildings and other new construction. Maintenance and renovation work aren't in these counts. The map shows jobs with coordinates, so it won't include every job in the list.
Contractors are matched through offices or project activity in this market. Fleet details are company-wide equipment on file, not verified purchases or a count of machines at these sites. Public filings often arrive 30–90 days after the event. The refresh badge is the page's update date; individual dates appear in the tables.
