Road work and a new hospital
The Turnpike widening runs from Partin Settlement Road to Osceola Parkway. Jr. Davis reported work on bridges at Partin Settlement, Simpson Road, and the US-192 on-ramp. Crews were also building reinforced earth walls, putting in storm drains, and making a new northbound road. Jr. Davis has done highway widenings and interchange work in Central Florida since 1985. It's based in Kissimmee, close to this stretch of the Turnpike.
At Lake Nona, crews moved thousands of tons of dirt and put in more than 1,000 concrete piles before the ten-story hospital went up. Brasfield & Gorrie is the main builder. The hospital reached its full height in 2025, and work began on a separate medical office building next door. AdventHealth plans to open the hospital in December 2026.

Jr. Davis says it's working on the Turnpike widening. Its road work includes moving dirt, putting in drains, and removing soil that can't support a road. Southern Development & Construction is based in Oviedo. It gets sites ready, puts in storm drains and utilities, moves dirt, and paves roads. Its company records list excavators, wheel loaders, and compact track loaders. They don't put Southern Development on the Turnpike or hospital jobs.
