DEME lists two jobs in Palmetto. At Moccasin Wallow, near State Road 64 and Interstate 75, it lists clearing, excavation, retention ponds, and road work. At the tradeport, its crews stayed on as the work moved from excavation into utilities and roads.
Hurricane Ian damaged North Port's Fire Station 81 on the City Hall site. The city tore down the old station and hired Wharton-Smith to build a new one in the same place. The $17.5 million building reached its full height in July 2026. The city expects to finish it in December.
